After nearly 4 months of waiting in a vet clinic, this precious young boy is FINALLY going to have a chance at a real life! Elvis was picked up with his sister on Easter (yes...that long ago) by his angel, Haley. Haley brought them back to the vet clinic where she worked in the hopes that they could find a home (of course she could not leave them on the side of the road). Well Elvis' sister was adopted almost 2 months ago and poor Elvis just couldn't find anyone to give him a chance. Of course everyone took great care of him at the vet clinic, but we all wanted him to find a "real home".
One day, everyone was soooo excited because someone was willing to give Elvis a try. Could this be the one??? Well after a week, they found out that this poor baby was put outside in the heat all alone...so back to the vet clinic he went! He had the chance to catch a ride up to Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago, but due to no fault of his own, he missed his ride (there was a mix-up as to the time the transport was leaving and sadly he could not make it). Now, about 2 weeks later, Elvis is finally going to start a new life (one that is well deserved!). He is bunking at our house for the night (wish we could have picked him up earlier). We have fostered a TON of dogs, but we have to say...this boy is a GEM! He seriously is going to make an excellent companion (Haley you were so right). He has such a gentle nature and would do great with kids. It's amazing how well-mannered he is for having such a rough start in life.
Thank you Haley for doing what was RIGHT, but what many many people did not do and that was stop and pick up Elvis and his sister from the streets. You have an amazing heart! A huge thank you to Amy and fellow OARS' members for agreeing to take him in and also to Alyssa for allowing Elvis to hitch a ride with the rest of the lucky pups going North! We just LOVE "rescue" people! You all should sleep well knowing how many lives you have saved!
