Where are we going mommy???
Thanks to an amazing group of dog/animal lovers, Ruddick and 6 precious babies from the Osceola Animal Shelter (Jordan, Tasha, Ginger, Angel, Coco, and Abby), have a chance to live wonderful lives with families that want them. On Friday afternoon, I met my sister Kelly in Cape Girardeau, MO so that these guys/gals could spend the night in St. Louis. After snoozing at Off the Leash Dog Grooming in Ballwin, MO (THANK YOU JUDY for allowing them to stay and Kelly, Janice, Haley , and Stacy for helping them and keeping them "entertained" during their time in St. Louis), the LUCKY 7 met up with another transport originating primarily in Springfield, MO. After transport coordinator extraordinaire, Kerin, put together a "RUN SHEET" for the Leg-to-Leg transport, volunteer drivers ( "Rescue Road Warriers") picked up our babies on Saturday morning and headed North.
The journey didn't end there. Not only did amazing people volunteer their time and gas to drive short distances (typically driving 1 1/2- 2 hours), several offered their homes Saturday night so that these (and other rescued doggies) could snooze in the comfort of a home before heading out the next morning (today, Sunday) to make it to their final destination in Michigan. The Lucky 7 are scheduled to arrive at UPAWS (Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter) http://www.upaws.org/. Thanks to our friend Beth in WI who hooked us up with Ann from UPAWS, these precious souls have literally been saved. A HUGE thank you to shelter manager, Dyana, for agreeing to this amazing rescue! Boy we wish we had lines here waiting for dogs!

Paula and Sissy with 2 of their fur-souls who have been "chosen"! These 2 pups have no idea how lucky they are! On the left is Tasha (her sister, Tisha, was adopted already) and on the right is Abby!

This one was special...Jordan. These ladies LOVE him (so much that he has been at the shelter since September- amazing dedication ladies!)
