SANTA PAWS IS COMING TO TOWN...PET PHOTOS WITH SANTA & WOOF CONNECTIONS BOOTH!

STEUDLEIN LEARNING CENTER'S 2nd Annual SANTA'S SWEET SHOP has added PET PHOTOS WITH SANTA this year as part of their fundraiser! Steudlein is a non-profit preschool that serves children with disabilities (it is where I work). All proceeds from SANTA PHOTOS (people and pets) will benefit the children at Steudlein Learnng Center.

SANTA'S SWEET SHOP has several wonderful holiday gifts available through various vendors (mostly handmade items). It is open from 9 am - 12 pm. Santa will be there for "PEOPLE PHOTOS". Booths are available for rental if anyone is interested!

***PET PHOTOS WILL BE TAKEN WITH SANTA BETWEEN 1 PM AND 2 PM (my hubby will be "SANTA PAWS"...but shhhh don't tell the pups!)***Pets must be on leashes

This year, WOOF CONNECTIONS (the rescue my husband Kevin and I started) is renting a booth!!! We will be selling homemade doggy treats, concession items (sodas, muffins, etc.), and other Holiday "doggy/kitty-related" gifts to help raise money to pay vet bills and other needs. 100% of the proceeds will benefit pups in need. In addition, there will be several wonderful raffle opportunities including doggy and kitty gift baskets (thank you Kelly!) as well as a FANTASTIC opportunity to win a CUSTOM PET (or CHILD) PASTEL PORTRAIT from renowned St. Louis Artist, LISA OBER (who happens to be my sis- thanks so much Lisa) for a donation of only $5.00 per ticket!!!

The Portrait Give-Away will go until December 17th so PLEASE pass the word! Tickets are only $5.00 each!!!! A gift certificate will be provided to the winner so it will make a great Christmas gift! Winners of the other raffles will be chosen that day and notified via email or telephone if not present. You do NOT need to be present to win (portrait is completed using good quality photographs of the subject and can be shipped upon completion). Lisa's work can be viewed on her website
http://www.oberfinearts.com/ ; her blog http://www.oberfinearts.com/Blog.html; or at her gallery in St. Louis http://www.oberandersongallery.com/

IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO DONATE ANIMAL-RELATED OR PEOPLE-RELATED ITEMS for our booth (even a 12 pack of soda/water or commercial wrapped muffin or streusels, etc. would help tremendously), please contact Allie at 901-240-9848 or allieot98@yahoo.com. We could use some volunteers as well!

***IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND, YOU MAY STILL BE INCLUDED IN THE RAFFLE DRAWINGS AS DONATIONS CAN BE MADE VIA PAY-PAL (
allieot98@yahoo.com) AND/OR CHECK (email me for the address)***

ANGEL'S JOURNEY CONTINUES...WELCOME PUPPIES!

The picture above was taken at Angel's first foster home in St. Louis (Kathleen's house). She settled in fairly quickly and had her puppies on October 29th! This was the day Angel was scheduled to go to Nebraska (that rescue fell through as many of you may know). Check out some pics from the day these precious fur-souls were born!

Kevin and I were able to visit Angel and her puppies at their temporary foster home with Pamela this past Sunday while we were in St. Louis! Oh how I miss this sweet girl. All the puppies seem to be doing well so far, but there is some concern about Angel's milk production. Angel and pups were moved to Kelly's house Sunday evening (Mostly Mutts Director) so that she can keep an eye on Angel and provide supplemental feeding if necessary (Kelly has extensive experience with mommies and puppies).

Kelly is going to take Angel to see the ortho specialist about her leg. She has already seen one vet already. It turns out that Angel's scapula is pushing on her spine (waiting for xrays still). She does not have any feeling in her foot and most of the way up toward her should. Future plans include amputation of not only her leg, but part of her shoulder/scapula as well. More bad news...Angel is heartworm positive (we figured she would be though). The vet feels she should be treated for heartworms first (after puppies are weaned of course) and then work on the leg/shoulder amputation later. She will need some more doggy angels to help with this so we hope to have a Chip In up and running very soon!

Check out some pictures of Angel and her 9 puppies below (puppies are 1 week and 1 day old):

Check out the cute little black one upside down- lol!

Love the one on top!

1 special white one :)

Gotta get comfy wherever you are!

Nothing cuter than a puppy pile!

I may be wrong, but I believe this is the runt!

Dinner time!

Such a good mommy!
